Hi, I’m Kelly, founder of Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for ice cream. Visiting my uncle’s dairy farm as a kid may have been the beginning of that obsession. Though I later became a nurse by trade, I’ve never known a time when ice cream wasn’t the center of my day—and I wouldn’t change that for the world.

Together with my husband, our inaugural batch of Kelly’s ice cream was born in the tiny kitchen of our first home. Juggling this new venture around the responsibilities of my nursing job — all while raising our new family — was quite the challenge. We didn’t know where we were headed. We just knew we were doing what we loved.

In the early days, we’d cart our frozen favorites to local farmer’s markets throughout the city, slowly introducing our newest flavors to anyone willing to try a scoop. Along the way, we developed a loyal fan base of hungry customers and original flavors that have become signature staples on our menus. We owe much of our success to their support and feedback during those early days of tasting and experimentation. Seeing their smiles and enthusiasm for our ice creams was motivation to keep our humble little business going.

As time progressed, Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream slowly blossomed into what it has become today. We went from a pink food truck (that still rolls through the city today), to our first brick and mortar store in Audubon Park, to multiple scoop shops and counters throughout the community.
 

We’ve carefully grown our ice cream company without losing sight of our purpose — to make ice creams of the highest quality, at a reasonable price, while giving back to the communities we serve.
